Arrive in Ahmedabad around late evening and proceed to check in to The House of MG, a Haveli-turned hotel of the Mangaldas family, located in the centre of Old Ahmedabad. We will enjoy dinner in the hotel and spend time at leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Early morning after breakfast head to the Calico Museum of Textile and enjoy their guided tour. Later we will have a traditional village-style lunch at Vishalla and marvel at the inimitable beauty of the old utensils. Return to the hotel and after some rest, we will visit "Amdavad ni Gufa" an underground art gallery in Ahmedabad and sit and sip on the hot steaming tea at the Café. The evening will be at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay at the House of MG.
Early morning, head out to the old city for a heritage walk. Walk the narrow streets with Pols dating back to the 1520s, the stories that they carry will be narrated to us by our informed local guide. The walk ends at the Jama Masjid, after which we will head for an authentic local breakfast at the first Thali restaurant in India. Return to the hotel and after some rest, check out. Today we drive to Zainabad in the Little Rann of Kutch (LRK). En route, we’ll stop by the Adalaj Stepwell, and marvel at its architecture before arriving at the Desert Coursers Camp, where our stay is in form of traditionally built bhunga lodge. In the evening get ready to enjoy a village walk and discover some of the last nomadic tribes. There’s no way we can miss out on the disappearing culture. Dinner and overnight stay at the Camp.
Today promises to be an active day, with an early wake-up call to enjoy both the endemic and the migratory birds that make the LRK their home from November to February every year. We will come back to the camp for breakfast. In the afternoon after lunch take some rest and get ready for a thrilling experience of evening safari in the Rann which ends with the view of a breathtaking sunset. There would be a campfire tonight where the hosts will entertain us with local tales. Dinner and overnight stay at the Desert Coursers Enjoy the campfire and the traditional local Dinner. Overnight stay at the Camp.
Early morning check out and drive toward the archaeological site of Lothal, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is like a cousin of Dholavira in Kutch. With a heavy heart now it's time to bid – goodbye to one of the ancient cities of the Indus Valley Civilization. Depart for Ahmedabad Airport and fly back home with amazing memories from the trip.
