Arrive in Lima and transfer to at the hotel. Today, you will have a relaxing evening to have a stroll in the vicinity of the hotel.
After a leisurely breakfast, you can adjust yourself with the time difference. Post lunch, you will have a short excursion of the Lima city. We will leave you to enjoy the evening on your own. Our group arrives in Lima by night.
In the morning take a flight to the interior Jungle region of the massive Amazon. Puerto Maldonado is where the Tambopata and Madre de Dios rivers merge and this would be the start of our 2 day Amazon Adventure. We will sail on the Madre de Dios to reach the Jungle River Lodge for our two night stay. In the evening we have a walk to observe the nocturnal insects. There would also be boating on the river as the chances of spotting a caiman (alligator family) are good after sun set.
You will have an option to enjoy various forest excursions depending on your physical abilities. One of the excursions is a walk to the Sandoval Lake where you might have the company of the Otters in the lake. In the afternoon we will have time to relax or take more of the excursions arranged by our forest guides. The lodge is located beautifully on the banks of the Madre de Dios, where you could just sit and enjoy the sunset.
Transfer to the airport to board the flight to Cusco. On our arrival in Cusco we would drive to down to a much lower altitude to the Sacred Valley. Our hotel for the next two nights will be in Yucay a town on the banks of the Urubamba River. Sleeping at lower altitude than Cucso is always better to wake up fresh to witness the magic of Machu Pichu.
In the morning, transfer to the train station in the town of Ollantaytambo to leave by Vistadome train to Aguas Calientes, the base of Machu Pichu. The train journey is scenic and parallel to the gushing waters of the Urubamba. Once in Aguas Calientes we will take the bus to the entrance of the ruins of Machu Picchu where the guided tour will start.
In the morning after visiting the Market of Pisac we will proceed to Cusco. On arrival in Cusco we will visit the Central Square and the Cathedral. After lunch we will visit the most important temple in the Inca Empire, Qorikancha. The evening is free to wander the streets of Cusco which inspite of being touristy is very charming.
After breakfast we will proceed to the airport to board the flight to Juliaca, the gateway to Puno. On landing in Juliaca after a short flight we will drive to Puno. The Titicaca lake at an altitude of 15,200 ft above sea level is the highest navigable lake on the planet and our main attraction on this lake is a visit to the floating reed islands of Uros. The local Ayamara language speaking people will welcome us to their island and will brief us on the way of life on these islands. The Titicaca has a surface area of 8200 Sq kms and is divided into Peru and Bolivia. After boating on Titicaca, we will visit the local market in Puno and see the many varieties of quinoa, the protein rich export of Peru. We only arrive late night into Lima from Juliaca.
It is important to relax today with a city tour that takes you through both historical and modern Lima. We will visit the Gold Museum where the gold of the Inca’s is displayed. We will also visit the Cathedral Square and observe the unique architecture of the colonial buildings here.
In the morning after a leisurely breakfast we will drive down south on the Pacific coast, to the town of Chincha which is the birth place of the national drink of Peru, Pisco. We will visit a local winery where we will have a tasting session of Pisco. In the late afternoon we will arrive in Paracas, where our hotel is beautifuly located on the shores of the Paracas Bay of the Pacific Ocean. Evening is best enjoyed watching the sunset.
In the morning visit the Ballestas Islands (the southern neighbours of the Galapagos in Ecuador) to see the beautiful flora and fauna like the Penguins, Sea Lions and the Marine Birds. In the afternoon enjoy lunch at a seafood restaurant (vegetarians would be catered to). Later proceed back to Lima for an overnight stay.
After breakfast we will board the flight to Foz do Iguazu. After arrival we will proceed to check in our hotel in the town of Foz Do Iguazu in Brazil. Enjoy a traditional Brazilian Dinner.
Today we would need to cross the border twice and therefore passports are needed to be carried. We will arrive on the Argentinian side of the falls and start with the train ride to the ‘Devils Throat’ station. The walkway will take us to the edge of the falls where water drop is at its most powerful and thats why this section is called the Devils Throat. We will also witness other waterfalls on both the upper and lower circuit of the falls. The most exciting part of the day will come when you would get into a speed boat and go under the falls to get soaking wet. At the end of the day we will drive back to Foz in Brazil.
The Iguassu falls are one of the new seven natural wonders of the world. The view from the Brazilian side is different than that which we witness from Argentina. On the Brazilian side there is a long walk-way along the canyon with an extension to the lower base of the Devils Throat, which today would be actually visible as we would be facing it. After lunch we will head to the airport to board a flight to Rio de Janeiro. The evening is free to enjoy a walk on the famous Copa Cabana beach.
In the morning after breakfast, we will visit the Sugarloaf Mountain taking a cable car to the top. We can enjoy breathtaking views of the Copa Cabana beach from here as well as the rest of the city. In the Evening visit the Corcovado, from where it is possible to admire the most famous icon of the city, a white Christ or which is also known as the Christ De Redeemer. Later we will proceed to the airport late night in order to get ready for our flight back home.
Proceed to board the flight back home.
