Our Peru, Iguazu and Patagonia expedition brings together these many worlds into one thoughtfully paced journey that lets you truly be with its wonders. A whole continent. One extraordinary expedition.

Arrive into Lima, the capital of Peru, late in the evening. Tonight is kept easy so you can rest and recharge before the journey deeper into South America begins.
Fly to Puerto Maldonado and sail across the Madre de Dios River to your jungle lodge deep inside the Amazon. After dark, head out on a guided river safari, keeping an eye out for caimans and other nocturnal creatures that emerge only at night, before settling into the slow rhythm of rainforest life.
Wake up to your first morning in the rainforest and experience the Amazon in an entirely different light. Explore jungle trails and waterways with local naturalists, spotting colourful birdlife, unique flora and the remarkable biodiversity that makes this one of the most fascinating ecosystems on Earth.
Leave the rainforest behind as the landscapes shift dramatically from dense jungle to the towering Andes. En route to the Sacred Valley, visit the remarkable Maras Salt Mines before arriving at your beautiful retreat in Yucay, surrounded by mountains and the quieter rhythms of the valley.
Board the scenic Vistadome train through the Sacred Valley, where traditional music, local culture and panoramic Andean landscapes set the stage for one of the world's great travel experiences. Arrive at Machu Picchu and explore the legendary Inca citadel with a guided tour, an unforgettable encounter with one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
Visit a local cultural centre and gain insight into traditions that continue to shape life in the Andes today. Later, explore the colourful market town of Pisac before continuing to Cusco, carrying a deeper understanding of the culture behind the ruins and monuments you've encountered.
Explore Cusco, once the capital of the Inca Empire and today one of South America's most fascinating cities, where Incan foundations and Spanish colonial architecture stand side by side. Visit Qorikancha, once the empire's most important temple, before flying back to Lima and settling into the lively Miraflores district.
Discover Lima's historic centre and the artistic district of Barranco, with time to enjoy Peru's celebrated culinary culture, from local cafés and fresh ceviche to the iconic Pisco Sour, before boarding your overnight flight to Rio de Janeiro.
Arrive in Rio de Janeiro and settle into the iconic Copacabana neighbourhood, where beach life, music and city culture blend against a dramatic backdrop of mountains and ocean. The evening is yours to ease into the city's unmistakable energy.
Visit Christ the Redeemer, your second Wonder of the World on this journey, and take in sweeping views across Rio's beaches, mountains and bays. Later, continue to one of the city's famous viewpoints—Corcovado or Sugarloaf Mountain—to enjoy another spectacular perspective of one of the world's most beautifully situated cities.
Fly to Foz do Iguaçu, the Brazilian gateway to Iguazu Falls, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world's largest waterfall system. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Brazilian dinner as anticipation builds for tomorrow's encounter with one of South America's greatest natural wonders.
Experience Iguazu Falls from both Argentina and Brazil, discovering one of the world's greatest natural spectacles from dramatically different perspectives. Walk the trails leading to the thunderous Devil's Throat and witness a landscape shaped by nearly 300 individual cascades spread across almost three kilometres. Later, board a zodiac boat that takes you astonishingly close to the crashing waters. The day ends with flying onwards to Buenos Aires.
Discover the character and culture of Buenos Aires as you explore its historic neighbourhoods and colourful districts, including La Boca, known for its tango heritage and deep football culture. The evening is yours to experience the city's cafés, parrillas and wine bars, or enjoy an authentic tango performance in the city where the dance was born.
Fly south to El Calafate, a small town on the shores of Lake Argentino that has long served as a gateway to Patagonia's wilderness. On arrival, explore the old quarter of town, hear stories of the early settlers and pioneers, and gain your first introduction to life in this remote corner of the world.
Travel to Los Glaciares National Park to experience the extraordinary Perito Moreno Glacier, one of the few advancing glaciers left on Earth. View this immense river of ice from panoramic walkways and from the water, where towering blue walls and the thunder of calving ice create one of Patagonia's most unforgettable sights.
Journey from Argentina into Chile as the scenery gradually changes from the open plains around El Calafate to the dramatic mountains and fjords of Chilean Patagonia. The drive itself becomes part of the experience, revealing just how vast and varied Patagonia truly is.
Spend the day exploring Torres del Paine National Park, where water seems to take every possible form—turquoise lakes, glacial rivers, powerful waterfalls and ancient ice fields—all set against dramatic granite peaks and vast open landscapes. Scenic drives and short walks reveal constantly changing views, making this one of Patagonia's most rewarding days.
Travel south to Punta Arenas and board the legendary Australis Cruise, your home for the next few days. As you sail through the remote channels of Southern Patagonia, there is a growing sense of leaving the familiar world behind.
Cruise through the fjords and islands of Southern Patagonia, where every landing is shaped by nature and weather. Explore places such as Ainsworth Bay and Tucker Islets through guided walks and zodiac excursions, with opportunities to encounter elephant seals, penguins and seabirds in one of the world's last great wildernesses.
Step ashore near the spectacular Pia Glacier, where a massive river of ice descends from the mountains directly into the sea. Later, sail through the breathtaking Glacier Alley, passing some of Patagonia's most impressive glaciers and encountering Magellanic penguins and seabirds along the way.
Sail towards Cape Horn, the remote headland that for centuries marked one of the world's most challenging sea routes and came to be known as the 'End of the World'. Weather permitting, step ashore before continuing to Wulaia Bay, a place once visited by Charles Darwin and surrounded by the dramatic landscapes of Tierra del Fuego.
This morning, your Australis expedition comes to an end as you disembark in Ushuaia, dramatically set between the Beagle Channel and the snow-capped peaks of Tierra del Fuego. Spend time exploring the world's southernmost city before flying back to Buenos Aires for your final evening in South America.
Depart for Mumbai with memories of ancient civilizations, vibrant cultures, mighty waterfalls, tropical rainforests and the extraordinary wilderness of Patagonia.
